We have a passion for colonial and early American period lighting! Our 18th century lighting reproductions are handcrafted from start to finish to create truly authentic primitive lighting.  Our colonial indoor lighting features tin, brass or wooden reproductions that have been treated with an antique finish.  Our colonial exterior lighting features brass or copper reproductions - some in several antique finishes to choose from - and all made to look like the lighting you would find in colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown or Cape Cod.

You will find that we have a great selection of period Outdoor Lighting, Wooden Chandeliers, Tin Chandeliers, Sconces, Wrought Iron Lights, Table Lamps, and Tin Lanterns to furnish your colonial period home, saltbox, cottage or farmhouse.  Our colonial reproduction lighting has even been seen in a more contemporary home setting.

Our customers have been asking us to offer more than just colonial lighting on our website. Our shop is filled with great displays of Primitive Wood Pieces, Redware and Pottery, Folk Art, and Candles and Reed Diffusers, so we tried to bring a bit of that to you today.

We hope you find just what you are looking for and encourage you to visit often as we plan on adding new products on a regular basis. Check in often for Seasonal - Fall, Winter & Christmas and Seasonal - Spring, Summer & Easter - we plan to offer great decorations for every season and holiday during the year!

Our retail store and 18th century reproduction lighting showroom is in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. If you live in the area or plan to visit, please come and see us!

As seen in the November issue of This Old House magazine, our Mirrored Sconce is a replica of a tin candle  holder that graced Philadelphia's Carpenter's Hall, where the First Continental Congress met in 1774.

Sconces look terrific on either side of a mirror or a piece of artwork that you want to feature.

The mirrors on the back of the sconce create a beautiful glow of candlelight - perfect for a bit of ambience.

Click 17" CANDLE HOLDER SCONCE WITH MIRRORS to order a pair of early American reproductions today!

Since 1973, The Tin Bin has been your finest source for your colonial period indoor and outdoor lighting and primitive home decor needs! As always, we look forward to serving you...

Do our products look familiar?  If you didn't see our colonial lighting and home decor at a friend's house, you might have seen us in print or at the movies!  The Tin Bin has helped to provide set design elements for M. Night Shyamalan 's The Village and The Happening.  We also provided products for Disney's blockbuster Pirates of the CarribeanIn fact, you may have seen some of our tin lighting in the homes photographed for magazines such as This Old House, Early American Life and Country Living.  A few years back, we provided much of the period lighting for Country Living's House of the Year, an annual treat that regular readers love.

Your decorating ideas are often born of self expression. Our customers are very creative in displaying their favorite collections and making a room feel warm and inviting for family and friends.  The Tin Bin can help you make your home look great and where your family can feel comfortable by providing you with the best in  period lighting and tin accessories to coordinate with your home decor.

Working with tin can also be a fun hobby! Just as tinsmiths used their creativity with their "punched tin" or "pierced tin", so you too can have fun creating punched tin pie safes or making a tin switchplate, outlet cover or nightlight. Buy some tin, use your tin snips to cut the size and shape of your project, punch your design with a hammer and an awe. Have fun - luminaries would be a fun project for kids - just use some old tin cans and have them hand punch a design!
