Business Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10-5; Wednesday 10-8
Located in the heart of
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, since 1973, The Tin Bin has been located in a
house dating back to the 1700's and a barn dating back to the 1800's.
What began as a hobby
for James and Jo Ann Lutton, the business quickly blossomed allowing the couple
to operate the store full time. Unfortunately, Jim died in 1995 and their
daughters, Susan and Sally began helping out with the business alongside their
families.
In 1999, the girls
purchased the business and now run the business along with some other great
folks at The Tin Bin. So from all of us - Jo Ann, Susan, Sally, Ginger,
Mary Beth, Janet and John - we are here to help you in any way we can - just
the way Jim did for so many years.
We, like many of you,
have a great passion for colonial lighting. Our eighteenth century lighting
reproductions, though newly made, are handcrafted and treated to create an
antique patina.
If you ever have a
chance to visit beautiful Lancaster County and our surrounding Amish country,
please plan to stop by our shop to see our lighting showroom, folk art,
primitives, candles and home decor!

A word about our motto, "Where there is darkness, let there be light." We derived our mission statement from the Genesis creation story and the Prayer of St. Francis. We intend to provide you with great products and customer service and hope that you will share your experience with others.
Genesis, Chapter 1, Verses 1-5 KJV
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Prayer of St. Francis
-
-
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
- where there is hatred, let me sow love;
- where there is injury, pardon;
- where there is doubt, faith;
- where there is despair, hope;
- where there is darkness, light;
- and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen. |
