Primitive Home Decor Inspiration From Gail Reeder

We have been admiring Gail Reeder for years on Instagram. She has been an inspiration for primitive home decor for over 6000 followers. Gail is also the author of The Four Seasons of My Primitive Life and Purely Christmas. If you are not already, you can follow Gail at https://www.instagram.com/vgreeder.passion_for_prim.

Because I am a fan, I was a little shy about asking if she would share some photos, but Gail immediately said yes and that she had ordered much of her lighting from The Tin Bin and she'd love to help highlight our shop. I think I was blushing when I read that email.

So let's dig in and see the Primitive Home Decor inspiration that Gail provides. Now not everything you'll see in these gorgeous photos directly translates to items you can order from us. In fact, many are antiques and from Gail's own incredible finds. But we are hoping you can take a little inspiration to use what you can find in your own home or from combing through estate sales, thrift shops and even yard sales!

In this photo we see some amazing home decor featuring an incredible pie safe. It looks like it may be an antique and is filled with gorgeous yellow ware bowls. Many people struggle to find an affordable antique pie safe but we have many people that purchase our Punched Tin Panels and hand-craft something of their own. I also spot a Paul Revere Lantern that is so charming next to some antique books on a shelf.

I love the hooked rug wall hanging underneath all of the fantastic wooden kitchen tools, including some well worn cutting boards. You can also get a closer look of the wonderful worn pie safe with tin panels that have an antique patina.

There are quite a few standouts in this photo. The cupboard filled with stoneware crocks is stunning, and the dough box on the stand is the scene stealer for me. On top of the dough box, I spot our 3 Light Candelabra Tin Table Light, which, although new, completely fits in with all the beautiful antiques because of the techniques used by our tinsmith.

An even larger pie safe anchors this space showcasing a lovely collection of antique baskets and pewter. On the side table is one of our most popular lights, the Double Lamp with Hanging Shades.

In Gail's stunning living room, notice the colonial reproduction settee with other textiles providing a contrast. We have a great collection of Hooked Rugs and Pillows to decorate your primitive home. We absolutely love the hooked rug displayed behind the sofa. Admiring the embroidery which looks like it may be an original makes me think that many people do not have the time to hand stitch one themselves, let alone afford an actual antique. Luckily, one of our crafters has offered the Ann Wood 1817 Embroidery Needlepoint Sampler as a great alternative. On top of an antique box, we see another variation of the 3 Light Candelabra Mini Tin Table Light.

The collection of firkins and band boxes in this cupboard is incredible. The pumpkin pillows on the couch are especially festive! We have a great collection of Homespun Pillows and more to accent your furniture pieces.

In this incredible bedroom, we see antique coverlets with other textiles neatly folded in a shelved bench at the base of the bed. The pie safe holds a treasure trove of more coverlets that carry the color theme so well. Displayed on the bedside table is one of our favorite lights, the Tidewater Tin Table Light.

In one of Gail's bedrooms, the four poster bed with a gorgeous coverlet is a stand out, along with a great assortment of lighting including some of our favorites, the Williamsburg Candle Sconce flanked beside the impressive portrait, and the Gettysburg Tin Table Light on the bedside table.

Thank you for coming along on a picture tour of Gail's primitive home. Her exquisite taste always shines though on every one of her photos. Many thanks for Gail for all of the inspiration she provides to all of us!
